Real talk time.
One of the biggest things I want to convey here on Who Goes Wear is the idea that you can be stylish without needing a closet the size of Texas.
I like being able to share outfits with dedicated style posts, but I want to do more to show that it’s possible to dress stylishly with a minimalist closet. From here on out, I’m going to do my best to show you what I wear every day – for better outfits or for worse (looking at you, work-from-home days).
Here’s my first week – how did I do?
Part of the fun of having a tightly-curated closet is that it pushes you to be more creative with the pieces that you own–which is especially easy when you’re working with a simplified color palette (see my palette here).
It’s possible to be a minimalist that dresses stylishly, just as it’s possible to dress well without wearing something new every day. We’re told so often that a new something will make us happy, but it’s rarely the case. Instead of buying for the sake of buying, we should look for the things that bring us joy.
Lauren Hutton once said, “Style is what you choose,” and I think the same idea applies to minimalism. Whether style or lifestyle: choose what you love, and forget the rest.
