Thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to watch The Midi! Here are the details on how I styled this dress throughout the video.
The midi is such a versatile style, especially when you grab a looser slip-style version like the one I wore.
With the addition of a shell top, a layered maxi skirt, or a blazer, it’s easy to turn the dress into something that feels fresh and new.

Styled: The Midi Dress
This is a pretty casual outfit, but the loafers keep things from feeling sloppy. I love the ease of throwing on an open utility shirt or chambray over a dress!
Hel-lo, date night. Putting a maxi skirt on over the dress makes it feel like a completely new style! I wore mine lower on my hips for a drop-waist effect, and added a blazer for a bit of polish.
I wore this to coffee with a friend at Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters – sneakers and a comfy knit are the way to go on weekends!
Wearing the dress on its own with sandals and a panama hat feels like summer. Perfect for a day at the beach!
Layering a structured top made the dress feel more feminine. When layering a top over a flowy dress, look for something that hits at your natural waist for the best silhouette.
Heels and a blazer are an easy work-week styling option. An edgy necklace keeps things interesting, but it’s still office-appropriate.
Adding a monotone piece in a new fabric (like I did here with the leather shell) is a great way to add interest without adding visual clutter. Keep things streamlined with one or two colors throughout.
I’d love to know what you think of how I styled my midi dress – let me know in the comments!
