If you told my high school self that I would be a minimalist, I would have laughed you all the way to the mall (of America, because I’m from the Midwest and the biggest mall in the US is how we roll).
It wasn’t until I was living out of a backpack for five months that I realized how much better life could be. How?
My pack was nowhere near light, but it alone carried all my favorite things. The jeans that always fit perfectly. The sweater that somehow goes with everything. The single best polaroid of my best friends.
When I realized that I had managed to live happily (fashionably, even) with just a few well-made items, well, that’s when the magic happened.
So here we are. I’m back in San Francisco, with a whole new state of mind. For me, minimalism means only having your most cherished things, the ones that make you light up and dance. It means letting go of the okay things, the meh things that take up space but don’t really inspire you or get you excited about life (and for those who are wondering, we aren’t just talking about clothes anymore).
Minimalism means getting rid of what doesn’t matter in your life to make room for what does.
Who Goes Wear is a celebration of the simple beauty in everyday life. This is a fashion-lover’s journey into minimalism: in style, and in life.
If you’re already a fan of simple living, then you’re in the right place. Welcome!
And if you’re undecided, then let’s talk it out. There’s room in here for everyone.
I believe in spending my time doing the things I love; in wearing my favorite shirt again and again; in seeking the beauty in everyday life; in cherishing the things and people that inspire me. I believe in living fully, and daring greatly.
Living simply, better, beautiful. It’s possible for all of us. We’re in this together.
Welcome to 2.0.
