Some big thoughts to share—it’s a bit long, but worth a read:
When I started Who Goes Wear in August of last year, it began as a passion project. I had so much that I wanted to share about four areas that I love: culture, food, travel, and style. A lot of it focused on my life in San Francisco. But when I left the city to travel, I felt displaced from my own blog, and fell into this weird spot where I thought that all I could write was typical travel posts. I did my own thing here and there, but largely felt as though I had somehow gotten stuck into a travel-post rut and was entirely missing the point of why I had created WGW in the first place.
Don’t get me wrong: travel blogs are wonderful. But this is not a travel blog.
So, I started thinking, and started writing what I was thinking about, and photographing the things that I cared about, and I realized that it’s time for a bit of change around here.
I’m going to finish out the travel-specific posts that I already have over the next few weeks (and there’s some really fun stuff to share there!), but I am otherwise going to be taking a brief hiatus from other content for the month of March while I prepare the new site and get back to why we’re here: to be inspired.
I’ll share more in the coming weeks, but this is what I know now: I want this site to be a place that inspires you to live simply. That encourages you to look at the world with fresh eyes. That renews your dedication to living the best life you can. And that proves that there is beauty to be found everywhere.
There are going to be a few missteps along the way, and I still have a lot to figure out, but I think I can do it. I think we can do it. You are as much a part of this journey as I am. I create first because it inspires me, but I share because I hope that it can, in some big or small way, also inspire you.
What to expect from the new Who Goes Wear? You’ll have to wait and see, but it’ll be more of what we both love. It’ll be more beautiful photos, more thoughtful writing, more visual inspiration posts, more on the people/places/things that are worth your time to know. More of us looking at the world together. Less of the things that everyone else is doing.
To close: thank you, for reading this far and for supporting this little project of mine. Every note and comment that you write means so much to me. I’ll be sharing some things with my email list in advance, so sign up for that to be the first to see the new WGW!
In the meantime, please keep an eye to the site, and I promise that I will have something worthwhile to share very, very soon.
