Last week, I had the opportunity to visit the stunning Kenwood Inn and Spa for an evening of “Beauty Inside and Out.”
Excited by the possibilities ahead, the lovely Annie of Montgomery Fest and I hopped in a car and headed north to Sonoma. While traffic got the best of us and made my visit more brief that I would have liked, what I saw of Kenwood Inn and Spa was enough to make me want to book a stay immediately.
We arrived late, hungry, and stressed in the way that only bumper-to-bumper traffic can induce. But our walk to the garden and pool area was through one beautiful scene after another, and I could feel myself getting lighter with every step. There’s something about walking through a tunnel of flowering jasmine that makes it impossible to be upset about anything.
The theme for the evening was “Beauty Inside and Out,” and it was put on to celebrate the work of local artists, winemakers, and philanthropists. The Kenwood was showcasing work by photographer Andy Katz and closed the event with a touching toast by Heidi Kuhn, who founded the Marin-based Roots of Peace.
If you’re planning a visit to Sonoma, whether for a couple’s trip or a weekend with friends, definitely consider staying at the Kenwood. I loved my time there and can’t wait to get back soon!
